An introduction to baroque folk

AS IT IS an introduction to this baggy and unwieldy genre, we have largely stuck to dusty old classics from the likes of Pentangle and Nick Drake in this collection, though we hope it will appeal to avid fans as well as newcomers. There has always been a melancholy, introspective and autumnal feel to baroque folk, and October seems like the perfect month for such a playlist. For listeners who might want to trace influences, we have sequenced the songs in rough chronological order.
